Cellar District Edition

Nutritionist Kim recently dined at The Cellar District and had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners to learn the story behind this beautiful restaurant in Fond du Lac.

Founded in 2021, Cellar District is known for revolutionizing the way people experience dining out. They take pride in our ability to discover some unique ways to combine local, fresh ingredients and the dining experience as a whole.

“Was this originally a church?”- is asked by many, the co-owner told Kim. “To our surprise, many don’t know the history within our walls.”

The start of the building began in 1913 as Immanuel Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church utilizing both local material and builders. Primarily made up of limestone and concrete, the building was finished in 1930. The downtown location served the Immanuel-Trinity congregation until June of 2011.

In 2012 the building was built to suit a restaurant called Trinity, showcasing warm features and highlighting the original wood of the historic building.

Opening its doors in October of 2021, the building became home to The Cellar District.

The Cellar District wants you to taste your way through their delicious and handcrafted menu, carefully curated with your taste buds in mind. By utilizing primarily Wisconsin products, they know that you’ll find yourself on an exciting culinary journey.

We checked out their Hummus and Veggie Plate, Mediterranean Avocado Salad with Salmon, and the Mongolian Beef.
