Tipsy Taco Edition
Nutritionists Kimberly and Erin are back with our Nutritional Healing March restaurant review! This month we headed out for a fun dining experience at Tipsy Taco & Tequila Bar. (Disclaimer: we will only be covering the tacos ((no tipsy)) for the purposes of our healthy menu options for the community in this review, haha ). Their bar decor is amazing though!
Sarah Gregory, the owner and from the same family as the well-known restaurant Sangria’s Mexican Grill in Appleton, expanded their talent and space directly across the street, and Tipsy Taco was established!
Tipsy Taco is a modern taqueria with an a la carte style where the customer gets to pick and choose what flavor tacos and side dishes they want (versus a plated meal experience). Every menu selection is perfectly prepared fresh to order with the finest ingredients available to ensure that every bite will excite your tastebuds and keep you craving more. Their handmade tortillas and an assortment of tacos balance unique flavors, spices, and aromas for the ultimate Mexican cuisine. Their menu is diverse, cultural, and fun for everyone. There are also plenty of gluten-free options!
A fellow community friend, Ryan Farva Lonergan, who has frequented Tipsy Taco before, suggested we definitely try the steak/chicken Mexican Tacos or venture into the specialty tacos on the menu. So we did!
The food was exceptional, and Kimberly and Erin ordered the Brussel Sprout Taco (which we were informed is their most popular menu item…a proud win for veggies, haha), Roasted Cauliflower Taco, Mexican Tacos, and side dishes of Queso, Guacamole, and Tipsy Veggies.
The restaurant decor and murals were bright, bold, and vibrant! One of their artwork themes is “Frida,” a famous Mexican artist who was extremely proud of her heritage and known for pushing the norms of society. That’s the goal of Tipsy Taco – they’re not meant to be like everyone else, and they push the limits providing a unique and artistic environment that doesn’t follow the norm! The atmosphere and energy of the staff were welcoming and fun. They shared their favorite menu items with us and had a blast spotlighting the best photo opportunities in the building with so many eye-catching decorations.
They are now serving Appleton and the Fox Cities, and are open every day of the week. Check them out as soon as you can and let us know what you order!
